The San Juan Islands
The San Juan islands boast some of the
most gorgeous scenery to be found in the Pacific Northwest. Please
enjoy your stay here, and the natural beauty that is the San Juans.
A word about island wildlife:
- Unless you are a salmon or seal, don't be afraid of "Killer
Whales"!
- We have no predatory animals, such as bears, wolves, mountain
lions or such on the island.
- There are no poisonous snakes on the island. (We also have no
obnoxious squirrels on San Juan Island, after having successfully
sent them all to Orcas Island).
Local Life:
Nearly every weekend the China Pearl Lounge has live music and
also great Chinese food for lunch and dinner. Herb's Tavern also
has live music on occasion all year round on weekends, besides
the best burgers in town. Our best bets for breakfast would be
the Rocky Bay Cafe, Vic's and Downriggers restaurant on the weekend.
Downriggers is our all around favorite eatery, with Mi Casita
for great Mexican food and margaritas; Vinny's for fine Italian
cuisine; and fresh seafood can always be found at the main dock
& Westcott Bay Sea Farms! Hungry for that great steak?
Try The Peppermill at the Suites for a great steak plus a fun
lounge!
But if the season permits
you just have to get out to the
Duck Soup Inn or
Roche Harbor
Restaurant to experience fine dining at its' very casual best!
For late night dining and recreation try
our new bowling alley "Paradise Lanes"!
VETERANS!- Check out the military
museum and the best view in town at the
American
Legion Club and Post Headquarters, right next door to the
Whale Museum in Friday Harbor! (You must be a current member
of a veterans organization, or you may join the finest Post during
your visit to the islands!) Serving food Monday - Fridays,
and great drinks every day.
